Vision for Food: Eat Healthy


Food is taking center stage in health. Remember mom told you to eat your veggies! There has been an explosion of food related research that shows a strong connection between food and your health.


On the menu? Eat lots of green, leafy veggies like spinach and kale. These provide many vitamins including a vision protecting substance called lutein.


Eat at least 3 serving weeky from each group.

Vitamin A:  carrots, kale, spinach, dairy, egg yolks

Vitamin C: citrus fruits (kiwi!), green peppers, broccoli, potatoes

Vitamin E: eggs, whole grains, vegetable oils, sunflower seeds

Lutein: spinach, corn, kale, broccoli, brussel sprouts
